With Memorial Day being just about 3 weeks away we have a couple of announcements. First up – we’re mixing things up a bit this year and we will be participating in the 2016 Murph Challenge. This means that we will be doing the workout on Memorial Day…aka Memorial Day Murph. We are signed up to be an official host for this year and will be running the workout just like we have in the past. The only difference will be if anyone wants to register for the challenge their donation will benefit the Lt. Micael Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Registering for the challenge will be considered a pledge to complete the workout and all participants will receive their choice of a complimentary t-shirt, tank top, or hat.

Also – save the date for Friday, June 10th. This is will be the 2nd Annual Flander’s Nature Center Field & Forest 5k Trail Run. I did the race last year and can personally vouch for their slogan of “this is more then just your average trail run”. This is a tough race and a ton of fun…it is also on a Friday night. Mike and I feel it is such a great test of fitness that we’re going to be canceling our evening classes that Friday and encouraging as many people from Strongtown to do the race as possible. It’s local, it’s fun, it supports a good cause, and when was the last time you did a 5k trail run?
