This Saturday CrossFit Strongtown will be participating in Avapalooza 2016. Avapalooza is an annual event inspired by Avalanna Routh, who touched so many people before losing her brave fight against AT/RT, a deadly form of brain cancer. She was diagnosed at 9 months and battled the disease for nearly 6 years.
Avapalooza is hosted by Latitude Sports Club in Methuen, MA and we will be running a satellite event at Strongtown. We’ve registered a Fundraising team for the event and if anyone wants to make a donation or join the team you can do so through the following link: CrossFit Strongtown – Avapalooza.
To mix things up a bit people will have their choice of doing one of the following workouts:
We will be running a normal class schedule for Saturday (9:00 and 10:00). Depending on how many people want to do ‘Jerry’ we may be running heats of 9 or 10 people every 10 minutes to avoid a bottle neck issue at the rowers.
Workout of the Day
- 20 Minute AMRAP
- 200m Run
- # Round of Cindy (5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 air-squats)
- On the 1st round you perform a 200m run and 1 round of Cindy, on the 2nd round you perform a 200m run and 2 rounds of Cindy, on the 3rd round you complete a 200m run followed by 3 rounds of Cindy….and so on, for 20 Minutes.
- Score = Completed Rounds + Partial Rounds / Reps (example: 8, 5+25….is 8 Full Rounds completed, +5 Rounds of Cindy and 25 reps)
